Mirra Andreeva lost to Barbora Krejcikova in the second round of Wimbledon.
The newly crowned French Open champion let her emotions get the better of her once more, as Andreeva threw her racket aside after Krejcikova converted match point.
Andreeva was visibly and audibly frustrated throughout the match, shouting at Conchita Martinez and her coaching box on several occasions.

After watching that and Andreeva’s post-match press conference, Greg Rusedski delivered his verdict on the 19-year-old’s conduct.
Greg Rusedski says it’s ‘fine’ that Mirra Andreeva can’t always control her emotions
During the latest episode of ‘Off Court Cuts‘, Rusedski shared his thoughts on Andreeva’s teary press conference.
“You have the right to delay the press as long as you want, so you don’t want to go in there emotional, you can take two or three hours if you want and settle down, have a meal, and talk to your team,” he said.

“Don’t go up there emotionally charged. I have done it many times and said many stupid things in press conferences. I wish I would have taken more time.
“I remember the year in 2002 that I said [Pete] Sampras wouldn’t win the title, and then he won the US Open.
“We have all done it, we have all made mistakes. I love her, I think she’s great, and I think Conchita [Martinez] is one of the best coaches in the business.”
Rusedski then commented on the match itself, where Andreeva narrowly lost out to the 2024 Wimbledon champion.
Mirra Andreeva vs Barbora Krejcikova – Match stats (6-4, 5-7, 4-6)

| 1st Serve % | 63% | 66% |

| Win % on 2nd Serve | 71% | 65% |
| Break points | 4/16 | 5/12 |
“She fought her heart out, let’s not forget about it,” he said.
“[Barbora] Krejcikova served for the match at 5-3, and she broke her to get back on serve, saving a couple of match points.
“She was fighting tooth and nail to try and find a solution.
“She got broken, 6-4, so you understand the disappointment and the anger because she has given 110%.”
Rusedski doesn’t have an issue with Andreeva’s attitude and thinks fans need to cut her more slack.
“She cannot always control her emotions out there, and that’s absolutely fine,” he said.

“When your player goes out there and goes on the court and gives their all, it’s going to be painful.
“That is why you have that press conference with somebody crying. If they didn’t care, they would not cry, they would show up like okay I lost, who cares, but that is going to make her great. She is going to find a way to balance it out.
“She said when she won the French Open that she wanted to be more like Roger Federer, but that is not her natural personality; that’s not who she is, but she is finding solutions and working with people.
“So give her a break.”
Andreeva won’t win Wimbledon this year, but can still take a lot of pride from what she’s achieved this summer.
The Russian won her first Grand Slam title in Paris and currently sits at the top of the ‘Live WTA Race’.

Mirra Andreeva must now prove she can maintain her level for the entire season
Andreeva looked well-placed to qualify for the WTA Finals 12 months ago, after a strong start to the season that saw her win titles in Dubai and Indian Wells.
Unfortunately for the Russian, her form nosedived in the second half of the year, and she missed out on a spot at the year-end championships.
It would take an even bigger collapse for her not to qualify this year, but Andreeva must still prove she can continue to perform during the second half of the season.
The US Open is statistically Andreeva’s worst Grand Slam event, something she will be keen to change this year.
