Another young star, who has impressed recently on the Challenger Tour, could be set to add his name to the ever-growing list of young ATP stars.

Rafael Jodar has won two ATP Challenger titles in three months

World number 210 Rafael Jodar, who practiced with Carlos Alcaraz at the Davis Cup in 2024, has demonstrated his innate talent on the ATP Challenger Tour in recent months, capturing two titles.

In August, Jodar won his first Challenger title at the Crete Challenger in Greece, defeating French player Dan Added in the final.

On Sunday, Jodar collected his second title of the year at the 2025 Lincoln Challenger.

Jodar defeated four American players on his way to the final, including top seed Brandon Holt. In the final, he defeated eighth seed Martin Damm 6-7, 6-3, 6-3.

This week, the Spaniard is competing in the Sioux Falls Challenger, where he will face Georgia’s Saba Purzeladze in the first round.

Jodar’s US Open triumph

In 2024, Jodar lifted the US Open Boys Singles title after defeating fellow young star and top seed Nicolai Budkov Kjaer in the final.

He became only the fourth Spanish player in history to win the title.

As per the US Open website, during his post-match press conference, Jodar said: “I’m in a dream right now.

“It was a battle. I want to congratulate also Nicolai for the tournament and for the match. It’s been a pleasure to play a final against him.

“I’m really proud of myself. I think all the work I’ve been doing this season, not only this season, just in general, in my whole life, has been showed here in this tournament.”

He added: “There were many, many people watching the match…I had to be focused, not thinking about all the people who were watching the match.
