Felix Auger-Aliassime bounced back from a disappointing Australian Open campaign by winning his ninth Tour title at the Montpellier Open.
Auger-Aliassime retired from his Australian Open first-round match due to cramp, ending his hopes of winning a first Grand Slam title.
However, the 25-year-old has returned to the Tour with a bang, producing an almost flawless week of tennis to win the Montpellier Open for a second time.
How would you rate Felix Auger-Aliassime’s chances of winning a Grand Slam in 2026?
Auger-Aliassime defeated Adrian Mannarino 6-3, 7-6 in the final, and has since travelled to the Netherlands for the Rotterdam Open.
The Canadian’s ninth title win has placed him in rarefied air among the greats of Canadian tennis history, and he will hope to continue his good form in the Dutch city.
Felix Auger-Aliassime sets a Canadian tennis record
With his title win in Montpellier, Auger-Aliassime secured his second consecutive triumph in the French city – and a ninth tournament win in total.
As a result, Auger-Aliassime has now won more ATP Tour titles than any other man in Canadian Open Era history.

The 25-year-old has surpassed Milos Raonic – the 2016 Wimbledon finalist who won eight Tour events during his career.
Raonic, the former world number three, retired from his playing career in January.
Auger-Aliassime now has the opportunity to win a 10th Tour title in Rotterdam. The Canadian is seeded second at the event and the withdrawal of Carlos Alcaraz has increased the 25-year-old’s chances of winning the title.
Auger-Aliassime faces Alexei Popyrin in the first round. If Auger-Aliassime defeats the Australian, he will play Zizou Bergs or Fabian Marozsan in the second round.
The Canadian won his first ATP Tour title at the Rotterdam Open four years ago, defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final.
If you were in charge of tennis, what is the first rule you would change?
