Felix Auger-Aliassime shares his Paris struggles

Auger-Aliassime has dropped a set in every one of his matches so far at the Paris Masters and it’s a slip-up the Canadian is aware of.

“Three sets all week. It’s been a struggle all week. Just fighting back, I feel like every day,” explained the World No. 9.

“That’s why I came in today knowing it might be tough again. Just stay calm, stay patient, and try to find solutions. I tried to dig deep,” he added.

However, the star has learned that he has the ability to change his fortunes within the match and he’s able to find the weapons he needs to gain the win.

“I know I have solutions within myself, but it’s just about making the right choices and executing right,” he explained. “I started serving better and better as the match went on.

“I was struggling with his change of pace on the serve… It was just a bit of a mix-up in my mind, where to return. I found a way to pressure him and broke him three times in the rest of the match.”

The Canadian’s match with Vacherot will be their first-ever meeting on the ATP Tour.

Despite being just 25 years old, Auger-Aliassime has racked up some incredible records on the ATP Tour since making his debut as a teenager.

The Canadian’s latest win at the Paris Masters marked his 100th win at Grand Slam or Masters events, which can only be beaten by two men born after 2000.

Despite his drop-off earlier in the season, Auger-Aliassime continues to statistically prove that he’s one of the best younger stars on the ATP Tour.
