Felix Auger-Aliassime continued his run to the ATP Finals with another win at the European Open, and he managed to match another record by Carlos Alcaraz in 2025.
Auger-Aliassime recently levelled an exceptional Alcaraz record during the ATP Tour’s Asian swing, which saw the Canadian reach the quarter-finals.
The World No. 13 has transitioned straight to the European Open in Brussels as he continues to try and crack into the top eight before the ATP Finals.
The star defeated Damir Džumhur in three sets to secure his place in the quarter-finals of the indoor tournament.
In doing so, the Canadian matched yet another Carlos Alcaraz record as he continues to rack up impressive numbers in 2025.

Felix Auger-Aliassime joins Carlos Alcaraz with 2025 achievement
Auger-Aliassime was forced into a decider in a very competitive match against Džumhur in Brussels, but he was able to come through in a tie-break.
The victory ensured the Canadian’s 15th victory in a deciding set in 2025, which can only be matched by two other stars.
Only Alcaraz and Nuno Borges have been able to win 15 deciding sets in 2025, meaning Auger-Aliassime has joined elite company.
The Canadian is within touching distance of qualification for the ATP Finals, with just 700 points between him and Lorenzo Musetti in ninth.
Auger-Aliassime will be hoping for an extended run at the European Open, where he plays qualifier Eliot Spizzirri in the quarter-finals.
The race for the ATP Finals
Qualification for the ATP Finals is still wide open, with only Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner confirmed for the event.
However, the likes of Alexander Zverev, Novak Djokovic, and Taylor Fritz looked nailed on for the event, and even Alex De Minaur and Ben Shelton are comfortable in the rankings.
| 8 | L. Musetti | 3645 |
|---|---|---|
| 9 | J. Draper | 3590 |
| 10 | K. Khachanov | 3190 |
| 11 | H. Rune | 3090 |
| 12 | C. Ruud | 2945 |
| 13 | F. Auger-Aliassime | 2905 |
| 14 | D. Medvedev | 2610 |
That leaves eight to 14 in the rankings looking to claim the last spot, not including Jack Draper who has ended his season early.
The only player who looks to be sliding out of a contention is Karen Khachanov, heightened by his second round loss to Jan-Lennard Struff at Almaty.
With Daniil Medvedev, Auger-Aliassime, Casper Ruud, and Holger Rune all hitting form on the indoor circuit, qualification could come right down to the wire.
