Felix Auger-Aliassime may have lost in yesterday’s Rotterdam Open final, but it still represented a fine week of work for the Canadian.

After all, despite a tough start to the season in Melbourne, he has bounced back to reach two consecutive finals, winning the first in Montpellier.

Had he been at full fitness yesterday, he might have been able to properly challenge Alex de Minaur for another title.

Alas, it was not to be, but his recent performances have still laid down a marker that reinforces the strength of Canadian tennis.

Victoria Mboko’s stunning run in Qatar only adds to this notion.

Felix Auger-Aliassime’s Victoria Mboko prediction

In comments compiled by Bolavip, who spoke to Felix Auger-Aliassime after he had lost the final in Rotterdam, they wanted to get his view on the current state of Canadian tennis after both he and Mboko had reached a final over the past weekend.

Naturally, he was hopeful for a bright future, led by him and this teenage sensation.

How would you rate Felix Auger-Aliassime’s chances of winning a Grand Slam in 2026?

The 25-year-old claimed: “I am always happy when the other Canadian tennis players are doing well. Gabriel Diallo had a great year last year and he is a really good friend of mine. Shapovalov did well in Dallas, Mboko did amazing things in Doha, so I am really happy.

“The thing is, compared to American, French or Italian players, we do not have as many. Obviously, the population is a lot smaller than in the USA, but we really pride ourselves on every player we have.

“We all support each other, so everyone can have the best career possible. We are all very good friends, and on the women’s side as well, it is amazing to see a girl like Mboko being so young and playing such amazing tennis. She is playing at an incredibly high level.

“She really has the chance to have an amazing career and win many Grand Slams, and I will be behind her if she ever needs me. She can take care of herself; she is already a great player, but I will always be here for her.”

Mboko has now broken into the top ten for the first time in her career, and reacted to such a milestone recently.

Where are the top-ranked Canadian players in the world rankings?

Whilst Auger-Aliassime and Mboko make up the top-ranked male and female players that Canada has to offer, there are still plenty of other talents dotted throughout the world rankings to be made aware of.

For a point of reference though, he sits eighth in the ATP rankings, and she is now ninth in the WTA alternative.

It does not take long to find another Canadian when delving through the women’s world rankings, with Leylah Fernandez currently 29th.

This is not far from the 35th spot that Denis Shapovalov currently holds, or Gabriel Diallo, who is ranked 38th in the world.

Beyond that, though, it is slim pickings, with not a single male or female in the rest of the entire top 100.
