Felix Auger-Aliassime experienced playing on Centre Court at Wimbledon for the first time.
Auger-Aliassime is a former Wimbledon quarter-finalist, but he had not been past the second round of the grass court major since 2021.
The Canadian has experienced his best run at The Championships since 2021 this year, with Auger-Aliassime beating qualifier Michael Zheng 7-6(1), 6-2, 6-1 to reach the fourth round.
This was Auger-Aliassime’s first ever match on Centre Court, and he has now compared it to his experiences of playing on the main courts at other Grand Slams.

Felix Auger-Aliassime speaks about playing on Wimbledon’s Centre Court for the first time
Auger-Aliassime was asked about his first experience of playing on Centre Court at Wimbledon in his post-match press conference.
The world number four responded by comparing it to playing on the biggest courts at both the US Open and Roland Garros, with Auger-Aliassime explaining the unique feeling he had walking out on to Centre Court at SW19.
“Well, once I get on it, it’s a beautiful court,” said Auger-Aliassime. “You’re so focused on what you have to do, you’re so focused on the very next point.
“I think what’s so unique is the walk to the court. Such a different feeling. That was for me the main difference. It’s such a different feeling than a stadium at the US Open or Roland Garros.
“It feels like a club. It really does. You’re walking in the hallway of a club. Even when I went out after the first set, I went to the toilets, it felt like I was not in a regular club, but a club with members and everything. That’s quite unique.
“Congratulations to the tournament for keeping that through the years. So it gives a very unique feeling to the players when they walk onto the court.”

Who is Felix Auger-Aliassime playing next at Wimbledon?
Auger-Aliassime will now look to match his best previous result at Wimbledon by reaching the quarter-finals.
Standing in his way of achieving this is Mallorca champion Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, who is currently on a seven-match winning streak on grass.
This will be a fourth meeting between the two players, with Auger-Aliassime leading their head-to-head 3-1.
However, it was actually Davidovich Fokina who won their most recent meeting after coming from two sets to love down against Auger-Aliassime at the Australian Open last year.
| Year | Tournament | Result |
| 2022 | Australian Open (R64) | Auger-Aliassime beat Davidovich Fokina, 7-6(4) 6(4)-7 7-6(5) 7-6(4) |
| 2022 | Italian Open (R32) | Auger-Aliassime beat Davidovich Fokina, 4-6 7-6(2) 6-2 |
| 2023 | Qatar Open (QF) | Auger-Aliassime beat Davidovich Fokina, 6-4 7-6(5) |
| 2025 | Australian Open (R64) | Davidovich Fokina beat Auger-Aliassime, 6(7)-7 6(5)-7 6-4 6-1 6-3 |
Davidovich Fokina has already achieved his best result at Wimbledon and will now be hoping to match his best previous Grand Slam result by reaching the quarter-finals, which he has only achieved once before at Roland Garros in 2021.
Auger-Aliassime will play Davidovich Fokina on Sunday, July 5, but this time he will not be on Centre Court and instead on No.1 Court.
