Emma Raducanu says she gets a ‘buzz’ playing in front of the British crowd at Queen’s
It was a crucial triumph for Raducanu, whose previous match-win had occurred on March 6 at Indian Wells.
Raducanu was absent from the Tour for the best part of two months following her exit in Indian Wells – due to a viral illness.
The British star returned in May, and had lost two consecutive matches prior to Tuesday’s victory.

“I am so happy to have come through that match,” Raducanu admitted during her post-match interview with BBC Sport.
“I actually haven’t won a match for a few months, and there is no place I would rather have done it.
Raducanu then commented on the atmosphere inside the Andy Murray Arena, noting the ‘buzz’ she feels when playing in front of the British crowd in West London.

- Second round: defeated Rebecca Sramkova 6-4, 6-1

“I have people who mean a lot around me, I am doing the best I can each day,” said Raducanu. “Being a part of the atmosphere is something I really enjoy.
“I don’t see it as added negative pressure, I really buzz off it. I love playing here, and I am just happy to be back.”

Emma Raducanu’s path to the Queen’s Club title
Raducanu will play seventh seed Sorana Cirstea or Australia’s Madison Inglis in the Queen’s Club second round.
If the British superstar advances to the quarter-finals, she will play either compatriot Harriet Dart, or 2020 Olympic champion Belinda Bencic.
A semi-final appearance would likely see Raducanu play second seed Amanda Anisimova; who the Briton lost to in Indian Wells earlier this year.
