Emma Raducanu’s season did not start the way she planned after she lost in the United Cup to Maria Sakkari.

Raducanu went down in three sets to Sakkari as Great Britain failed to qualify for the knockout stages of the United Cup.

The star’s preparations for the Australian Open are not done yet, however, as Raducanu next heads to the Hobart International as the second seed.

After the Australian Open, Raducanu has confirmed to play a tournament where she won her very first WTA main draw match.

The British star defeated Polona Hercog and Ana Bogdan, before falling to Marta Kostyuk in the quarter-finals.

The tournament provided the launching pad for Raducanu to shock the world just months later by winning the 2021 US Open.

The event will take place directly after the Australian Open, beginning on the 31st January until the 7th February.

Raducanu played the event in 2025 after receiving a wild card, but she lost to Markéta Vondroušová in the first round.

That was not the first time she had played the event, either, as she also received a wild card for the 2024 tournament.

Raducanu beat Marie Bouzková in the first round, but was comprehensively beaten by Ons Jabeur in round two.
