Emma Raducanu was not entirely happy with her performance against Donna Vekic in the Queen’s final.

Raducanu was beaten by Vekic 6-0, 7-6(6), despite leading the second set 5-2 and having two set points.

After reaching the biggest final of her career since winning the US Open in 2021, Raducanu has made an important ranking jump ahead of Wimbledon.

However, when looking back on her defeat in the final, Raducanu has admitted she could have done something better against Vekic.

Raducanu responded by highlighting her first serve percentage as something that could have been improved.

“Yeah, I think so,” said Raducanu. “I think maybe in the beginning I could have done certain things better, but also, like, first serve I think is important, and I wasn’t making enough first serves.

“You know, she also hit some great shots and great passing shots, got to some really good balls. I have to give her a lot of credit for how she played today.”

Raducanu hit a total of 67% of her first serves in play, with just 47% in the first set, while she improved this to 73% in the second set.

However, Raducanu was only winning 52% of her points when she did get her first serve in play.

What is next for Emma Raducanu after her run at Queen’s?

Although Raducanu may have some regrets from the Queen’s final, it has still been a very successful start to the grass court season for the Briton.

It is unclear as to what is next for Raducanu, who is actually scheduled to compete at the Nottingham Open this week.

However, Raducanu was sporting heavy strapping on her left leg in the latter stages of Queen’s after falling and she admitted in her press conference that she was unsure if she would be playing in Nottingham.
