With Indian Wells wrapped up, we have seen some big movements on both the ATP and WTA world rankings, particularly within the top ten.
Both Daniil Medvedev and Elena Rybakina, losers in their respective finals, enjoyed boosts to their respective positions, whilst others within this elite group swapped places with one another.
With that in mind, here are all the changes made in the men’s and women’s top ten after Indian Wells and before the Miami Open begins.
New ATP top 10 after Jannik Sinner wins Indian Wells title
Starting with the ATP Tour, and Daniil Medvedev, he has enjoyed a landmark boost with this run to the final.
The former world number one is back inside the top ten.
Will Jannik Sinner complete the Career Grand Slam at Roland Garros this year? 🤔
If not, who do you think will win Roland Garros?
He moves up one spot, whilst Felix Auger-Aliassime, who reached the STAGE, has also leapfrogged Ben Shelton up into 8th.
This title for Jannik Sinner has also seen him shorten the gap between him and Carlos Alcaraz at the top of the world rankings.
Medvedev sent a message to Sinner on social media after their match, congratulating him on his latest title.
New WTA top 10 after Aryna Sabalenka beats Elena Rybakina in the Indian Wells final
On the women’s side, despite losing to Aryna Sabalenka, Rybakina can still take solace from reaching a new career-high ranking.
She has jumped up into second, thus relegating Iga Swiatek to third.
The rest of the top ten remains largely unchanged, but jumps in place for Elina Svitolina and Victoria Mboko, to 8th and 9th respectively, has seen Mirra Andreeva drop to tenth.
Is Aryna Sabalenka vs Elena Rybakina the best rivalry in women’s tennis right now?
If not, who is?
Rybakina revealed what she really struggled with during her loss to Sabalenka afterwards, in a post-match analysis that was self-critical but optimistic about her future prospects.
Aryna Sabalenka says Elena Rybakina makes her a better player
Just as the Big Three admitted about one another, and just as Carlos Alcaraz and Sinner have more recently, Sabalenka thinks Rybakina is making her a better player.
After all, the ruthless and relentless quality of the world’s very best players always forces their competitors to rise to their level, or else face falling into obscurity whilst they dominate alone.
Speaking after their Indian Wells final, Sabalenka admitted at her press conference: “We have been playing for so long so many matches. And honestly, I really enjoy it, even though I lost so many of them and really painful ones.

“But still I enjoy it because it means that the final gonna be a show, it’s gonna be great tennis, great level, and it’s gonna be a fight, which is great for people to watch and also for me to become a better player.
“So I really enjoy our rivalry. So, yeah, I like her as a person, as a player, and I enjoy these battles. But I really hope that I’m gonna win all of them from now on.”
