Dominic Thiem is the latest star to weigh in on what the future might hold for Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.

Realistically, it’s impossible to predict given all the variables at play.

However, if both stay fit, one thing is guaranteed: plenty of success.

After all, at this moment in time, they are quite comfortably the two best male players in the world, having shared the last seven Grand Slam titles between each other.

Nobody comes close, and Thiem actually spoke about Novak Djokovic’s record when looking ahead to the future of these two superstars.

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner’s future Grand Slam titles tally predicted

Chatting with the Business of Sport, when asked to put a number on the amount of majors Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner could win, he admitted: I don’t know.”

However, he then added: “I think honestly, Novak’s record is going to be very tough to break. But they will both finish on between 15 and 20, I would say.”

Then asked if they need one another to maintain their dominance, Thiem was staunch in his stance: “I think so, yes. He has five slams right now and Jannik four, so if it was 5-0 or something, I don’t think he would go with the same focus into the US Open as he is now.

“If everything is going normally, they are probably going to play the final again, and if they want to get to the numbers of the big three in Slam titles, every single Slam counts. That is why I think both of them go with a different focus in every big tournament.”

Djokovic has previewed his US Open semi-final with Alcaraz recently, as all three players in question remain threats for the title.

Who will win more Grand Slam titles out of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner?

So many things can affect how a player will perform over a decade and beyond, particularly at the Grand Slam level.

Chief among them is fitness.

If both Alcaraz and Sinner stay fit, they could easily maintain their ongoing duopoly to sweep up at least one major a year, depending on whether one pulls ahead across a 12-month period.

Thus far, they are on five and four titles respectively, at the ages of 22 and 24.

What’s scary is that they should only get better; fortunately, they are able to use one another as motivation to continue progressing.

And, at this moment in time, nobody comes close.

Eventually, someone could emerge to challenge, but for now, there’s not an obvious player on the ATP who could upset such dominance.

Many have argued that, whilst Alcaraz’s highs are the highest in the sport, Sinner’s ruthless consistency will make him far more likely to pick up Grand Slam titles on a regular basis.

That is, despite the 22-year-old having forged a level of form throughout 2025 which has seen him reach an unprecedented number of finals.

Despite that, it’s hard not to lean towards the Italian if there has to be a definitive decision.
