Dominic Thiem headlines strong field in Dubai: All you need to know

Dominic Thiem will make his first appearance in Dubai since 2015 as he bids to win his first Dubai title alongside Andrey Rublev.

The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships has a history of welcoming some of the best talent in the game, with Roger Federer possessing a tournament record eight titles, followed by five-time winner Novak Djokovic.

Former World No 1’s Thomas Muster, Andy Roddick, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray have also triumphed at this ATP 500 event.

World No 4 Dominic Thiem, who lost to Roberto Bautista Agut on his last appearance in 2015, will be hoping to claim his first ATP 500 title since the Erste Bank Open in Vienna back in 2019.

Andrey Rublev, who has lifted the trophy at his past four ATP 500 events, is one of the favourites to lift the Dubai title, whilst Bautista Agut, who beat both Thiem and Rublev to reach the finals in Doha, also makes the top four.

20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer will not be competing at the event after his exploits in Doha.
