Stefanos Tsitsipas has won his first ATP title of the 2026 season.
The Greek star, once ranked third in the world, defeated Raphael Collignon in Sunday’s Gstaad Open final.
Tsitsipas, who has now won 13 ATP Tour titles, defeated the Austrian 6-4, 6-7, 6-3 inside the Roy Emerson Arena in the Bernese Oberland region of southwestern Switzerland.

Tsitsipas served four aces and won 70 per cent of his first-serve points en route to victory.
“The big question now is can he maintain that sort of level?” a member of the Sky Sports team stated after the contest.
Tsitsipas has since shared his thoughts on the contest and his title-winning campaign in Switzerland.

“It’s a crazy feeling right now, I survived the marathon,” Tsitsipas said while speaking to an ATP spokesman via Sky Sports.
“It was a long week. I played some crazy matches in the last couple of days. It’s crazy that I got, I think, three or four in a row in three setters.
“Every single match felt like it would never finish, and somehow I managed to convert it every single time and get to victory today with the same outcome.
“So couldn’t be more blessed, couldn’t be more happy. It’s been an incredible effort from my side to go out there and do that over and over again.
“Dealt with some pain in the last couple of days so I had to withstand a lot of different things. The result was obviously the best thing that I would have imagined since the beginning of the week.”
After beating Collignon in Sunday’s final, Tsitsipas is now set to gain 225 ATP ranking points.

- F: defeated Raphael Collignon 6-4, 6-7, 6-3
This increase will see him rise 30 places in the ATP ranking to world number 55.
The last time Tsitsipas was ranked this high was on April 6 [48th on the ATP Tour].
The Greek icon has waited a long time for his latest triumph.
Before Sunday, Tsitsipas had last won a title at the 2025 Dubai Tennis Championships.
The final, which saw Tsitsipas defeat Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-3, 6-3, took place over 16 months ago.
What next for Stefanos Tsitsipas?
After triumphing in Switzerland, Tsitsipas is set to take a break from competitive play – skipping the Washington Open later this month.
The Greek player will likely make his return at the Canadian Open, which starts on August 1.
“Yeah, I’m going back home,” Tsitsipas said to the on-court interviewer. “I will need one or two days off. It’s been a long week.
If you were in charge of tennis, what is the first rule you would change?
“It’s been a lot of crazy matches and I need some recovery, some rest, in order to be ready for the American swing.
“I’m looking forward to try and do the best possible results [during] the US swing and in order to do that, I’ll need to be fresh and prepared for a long few weeks on the road.”
Tsitsipas has the opportunity to increase his ranking further ahead of the US Open.
The 27-year-old is only defending 73 ranking points in the lead up to the event after early exits at last year’s Canadian Open, Cincinnati Open and Winston Salem Open.
