The Russian squandered three set points in the decisive tiebreak as he crashed out to qualifier Gilles Muller of Luxembourg, 6-4 4-6 6-3 7-6 (12-10).

Davydenko said: “I had so many chances of winning the fourth set but I didn’t. Maybe he was lucky in the tiebreak.”
