Joining Simone Vagnozzi in the post-match press conference, Jannik Sinner‘s two main coaches were unsurprisingly in a jubilant mood.
After all, they had just witnessed their player defend his Wimbledon title in dramatic fashion, showcasing immense heart to come back from a set down on the biggest stage in world tennis.
Asked if this result had changed his plans to depart at the end of this campaign, Cahill laughed: “No bet this year (smiling).”
He then added: “No. I’m here until the end of 2026, and then we’ll see. I did say I was finished at the end of 2025. I turned around and changed my mind.
“No, we’ll get through to the end of the year. We’ll sit down as a team and talk about what is best for Jannik.”
Cahill was supposed to leave Sinner’s team at the end of last year, but was convinced to remain for one final year.

Cahill has been around the sport of tennis for decades now, having coached some of the world’s very best players.
However, by the end of his career, Sinner might have eclipsed them all.
Having enjoyed spells with Andre Agassi, Andy Murray and Simona Halep, in 2022 he joined Vagnozzi in coaching Sinner.
