Coco Gauff is already looking towards next year’s Wimbledon tournament after suffering a heartbreaking semi-final loss this year.

Gauff has exited Wimbledon in dramatic circumstances, having committed a glaring error on match point against Karolina Muchova.

The Czech ace was also struggling with fitness on Centre Court, but battled through it to win 6-2, 1-6, 7-6 (12-10).

Despite the disappointing loss, Gauff has remained somewhat upbeat after enjoying her best-ever run at Wimbledon.

Coco Gauff claims she’ll be more confident and a better player at Wimbledon 2027

The WTA superstar was asked after the match if her run has recalibrated how she thinks about the event, to which she replied: “For sure, I definitely have more faith.

“I have a lot of things that I can improve.

“Yeah, I think, like I said earlier this week, that regardless of the result, it’s a breakthrough tournament for me.

“Needed something like this to have my belief at this tournament.

“I’m definitely going to come next year with more confidence and hopefully a better player.”

Gauff was also tasked with taking her mind back to that match point, having been told that commentator Tracy Austin believes she changed her mind in the moment several times.

The beaten semi-finalist said of the amount of decision-making involved in the shot: “Honestly, I didn’t change my mind too much.

“I think I feel like if I had to do it over, I probably would have gone for a slice forehand down the line.

“The ball bounce wasn’t really like that high.

“Don’t know if I would have hit a forehand or not. I don’t know.

“I have to watch it back honestly to say.

“Yeah, I mean, it’s tough because it was on my match point, but at the end of the day, if this point happens at 1-All in the tiebreaker, we wouldn’t be sitting here talking about it.

“But it happened on match point.

“It’s a learning experience.

“I know I can do better and improve on that, and going with a higher-margin shot in a pressure moment, for sure.”

It’s a fantastic attitude from Gauff, who is undoubtedly hurting inside but can also take plenty of confidence from her latest visit to London.

Before this year’s tournament, where she beat the likes of Jessica Pegula and Belinda Bencic, she had never made it beyond the fourth round.

Coco Gauff might watch the Wimbledon final after her semi-final exit

At the time of Gauff’s post-match discussion, Marta Kostyuk and Linda Noskova were playing out the other semi-final.

Asked if she’ll be watching the Wimbledon final between that winner and Muchova, Gauff said: “That’s a good question.

“Sometimes I watch and sometimes I don’t watch.

“I don’t know.

“We’ll see.

“When I get home, if I’m up, I might have it on.

“I am one that, like, stings a little bit, especially so close, I don’t want to watch.

“Also, at the same time, I am a fan of tennis.

“The girls who are left, I think it’s going to be a great match.

“Obviously Karolina is great.

“Whoever she plays in the final is going to be great.

“Maybe I’ll watch; maybe I won’t.

“I’ll be online.

“Probably already got some hate comments and stuff.

“It’s okay.

“Just makes you stronger.”

Who will win the 2026 Wimbledon women’s final?

An all-Czech clash!

Again, it is a really admirable approach from the 22-year-old, who constantly acts beyond her age on and off the court.

Incidentally, it was Noskova who won 6-4, 6-4 on Centre Court, setting up an all-Czech Wimbledon final against Muchova.
