Carlos Alcaraz has been taking a mini-break from tennis after his surprise early exit at the Miami Open.
The Spaniard lost in the third round to Sebastian Korda, which was his second early exit in consecutive years in Miami.
Alcaraz is set for a busy clay court season, which will begin with the first Masters on the surface in Monte Carlo.
Ahead of Alcaraz’s return to action, his plan of action ahead of his first European tournament of the year has been confirmed.

According to MARCA, Alcaraz is set to return to practise at the beginning of next week for the first time since Miami.
After training at his camp in Murcia, Alcaraz will then make the short trip to the Monte Carlo Masters on Friday, 3rd March.

That will give the Spaniard a couple of days to acclimatise to the conditions at the event, as he will likely play on 7th or 8th March.
Alcaraz is looking to defend his Monte Carlo Masters title from 2025, which was the first time he had won the event.
He became the first Spaniard to win the event for seven years, since Rafael Nadal lifted the trophy for the 11th time in 2018.

Alcaraz is set for an incredibly busy clay court schedule, with three Masters events on the horizon in quick succession.
The Spaniard will play the hectic trio of the Monte Carlo Masters, the Madrid Open, and the Italian Open over the next month.
