Jannik Sinner is an ATP Finals champion once again, having successfully defended his title in front of a rampant home crowd.
Unsurprisingly, the Inalpi Arena pulled heavily in favour of the Italian, who erupted every time he won a point with deafening support.
And whilst that would have unsettled almost everyone else in the world, the Spaniard stayed stron, making the final yet another high-quality and closely-fought affair despite Jannik Sinner’s straight-sets win.
It was naturally a big talking point after the match, with many keen to find out whether Carlos Alcaraz was impacted by being the pantomime villain.
Well, he has now revealed his stance.
Carlos Alcaraz reacts to facing the Italian crowd against Jannik Sinner
Chatting on court, as amicable as ever, Alcaraz smiled his way through what must be a painful interview to give.
After all, this marks another opportunity to win a new tournament pass him by. Fortunately, time is very much on his side.
All the conditions were against him heading into this grand finale, with the Italian crowd expected to be the greatest difference.
However, Alcaraz admitted after that he enjoyed the animosity of their support, who roared their hometown hero to the title: “Once again, the fans and the energy has been incredible. Obviously, most of you have been cheering for Jannik, but at the same time, you were really respectful, which I really appreciate.
“To be honest, I feel great playing in this final and playing during the whole week. So thank you, and I hope to see you next year.”
Sinner’s immediate reaction to winning the ATP Finals title was naturally one riddled with delight, as he lauded his generational rival after yet another great battle.
Has the ATP Finals always been in Turin?
The ATP Finals is a unique event on the calendar, as it has no permanent home.
Instead, the tournament switches between cities based on contracts, having spent the last five iterations in Turin.

However, before that it was London blessed with the honour of hosting, having held the event for over a decade between 2009 and 2020.
Other notable host cities have been Shanghai, Houston, Sydney, Lisbon, New York and many, many more.
Naturally, the current location favours Sinner, who has now gone unbeaten on his way to the title in consecutive years.
