Carlos Alcaraz has qualified for his first final at the ATP’s year-ending tournament after defeating Felix Auger-Aliassime on Saturday evening.
Alcaraz, who recently secured the year-end world number one spot for a second time, proved too strong for Auger-Aliassime, defeating the Canadian 6-2, 6-4.
The Spaniard will face world number two Jannik Sinner in the final – the sixth time they have played each other on the ATP Tour this year.
Few would bet against Alcaraz walking away from Turin with the trophy, despite Sinner’s current 28-match win streak on indoor hard courts.
The 22-year-old has enjoyed a historic year on the ATP Tour, winning two Grand Slam titles and reaching the final of 11 ATP events in total.

And on Saturday, the US Open champion made more history.
Carlos Alcaraz has reached the final at each of the four ‘Big Title’ levels
Carlos Alcaraz seems to make history on an almost weekly basis. Only recently did he join an elite list with Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal after defeating Lorenzo Musetti in Turin.
The Spaniard has continued this trend of record-setting after defeating Felix Auger-Aliassime on Saturday.
As per OptaAce, since 1988, Carlos Alcaraz is now the youngest player to reach the final at each of the four Big Title levels. These big titles are the Grand Slam, ATP Masters 1000, Olympics and ATP Finals.
Alcaraz was aged 22 years and 188 days when he achieved the feat. Comparatively, Zverev was aged 24 years and 95 days.
Speaking of Alexander Zverev, he was knocked out of the ATP Finals at the round robin phase after losing to Jannik Sinner and Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Carlos Alcaraz has a dominant recent head-to-head record against Jannik Sinner
As things stand, Carlos Alcaraz has won 10 of the 15 matches he has played against Jannik Sinner on the ATP Tour.
Alarmingly, Alcaraz has won seven of his last eight matches against Sinner on the Tour. Sinner’s only victory since the 2023 Beijing Open came in the Wimbledon final this year.
However, Sinner appears almost unbeatable on indoor hard courts, and he does have a recent history of defeating Alcaraz on the surface, having beaten the Spaniard in the Six Kings Slam final.

The pair will meet once again on Sunday. Sinner will be hoping to clinch back-to-back titles in Turin, while Alcaraz is aiming for a first ATP Finals crown.
