Team GB are back in Davis Cup action, and Cameron Norrie has revealed the biggest difference since Andy Murray left the team due to his 2024 retirement.
Murray carried Great Britain to a Davis Cup win in 2015 after winning three matches in the final against Belgium.
The Scottish legend retired in 2024, leaving a huge gap in Great Britain’s Davis Cup team, which the likes of Cameron Norrie and Jack Draper have been left to fill.
Norrie has revealed the biggest difference Murray’s retirement has made since he bowed out of tennis last year.

Cameron Norrie says he’s the elder statesman for Team GB after Andy Murray’s retirement
Norrie has been called up for Team GB’s match against Poland, alongside Arthur Fery, Jacob Fearnley, Julian Cash, and Lloyd Glasspool.
That makes Norrie by far the oldest in the team, and it’s something he’s noticed in the absence of Dan Evans and Murray.
“It’s special to be called up for your country and, yeah, it’s a little different this time for me,” said the Wimbledon quarter-finalist.
“Usually, when the team with Andy and Evo [Dan Evans] and a few older guys, and now I’m the older one in the team,” the World No. 34 revealed.
“So, the dynamics changed a little bit, but I’m so excited and pretty lucky to be here in Poland and competing for my country and, yeah, don’t want to be doing anything else,” he concluded.
Norrie made his Davis Cup debut in 2018, sensationally coming from two sets behind to defeat Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut.

In the same interview, Norrie revealed the hijinks that the players have been getting up to away from the court.
“It’s so much fun,” said the British star. “It’s so different to a regular week on the tour, and it’s so nice to see everyone again.”
“We’re playing lots of games, lots of darts,” added Norrie. “It’s just good chat, good banter, and the practice has been really good.”
Team GB are the favourites for the tie against a Poland team that features Olaf Pieczkowski, Tomasz Berkieta, Karol Drzewiecki, Maks Kasnikowski, and Jan Zielinski.
The tie takes place away from home for Team GB, on the hard court at the Polsat Puls Arena in Gdynia, Poland.
