Great Britain currently boasts four stars ranked within the WTA top 100.

Former US Open champion Emma Raducanu leads the way, ranked 29th on the WTA Tour. She is followed by Sonay Kartal and Francesca Jones, who are ranked 71st and 77th respectively.

Katie Boulter, who recently expressed her displeasure regarding recent injury issues, is ranked 100th.

Katie Swan, a former junior Grand Slam finalist at the Australian Open, is a British star who has so far been unable to enter the WTA top 100.

However, the 26-year-old has much to be proud about, having revitalised her career this year.

Katie Swan’s remarkable comeback story

In April this year, Katie Swan’s professional tennis career was hanging in the balance – the Brit was an unranked player following a period of persistent back issues.

She has since won four ITF circuit titles, catapulting her ranking back up to 280 in the world.

Her first title since making her return was won in May in San Diego. Swan defeated Dejana Radanovic in the final, catapulting her ranking back into the top 1000.

Later title wins in Don Benito and Wagga Wagga pushed her ranking up further to world number 378.

And, after defeating Wei Sijia 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the final of the W50 Brisbane, Swan achieved her highest ranking since December 2023.
