Baltacha seals Hobart spot

Baltacha will take on former Wimbledon semi-finalist Jelena Dokic in the first round proper on Monday. The match will be Baltacha’s second meeting with Dokic, who she lost to in three sets at Wimbledon in 2003.

I’m really looking forward to playing Dokic,” said Baltacha. “She’s going to be really tough, but I will have a bit of an advantage because I’ve had so many matches already, whereas she’s only going to be playing her second one. I like big matches and I’ll fancy my chances after the last couple of weeks I’ve had.”

The clash with Dokic will be Baltacha’s eight match in two weeks, with the Scot winning six of the previous seven.
