Melbournes tennis fans were treated to some of the biggest names in the game on the second day of the Aussie Open on Tuesday.

While Rafa fans had to wait until the final match on the Rod Laver Arena before they got their fix (minus those famous guns though), the day session starred some of the top seeds and favourites for the mens and womens singles titles.

Andy Murray kicked things off on the main show court with a straightforward passage into round two find out what our blogger on the ground thought of his first outing.

Later on, the Williams sisters, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Elena Dementieva, Gael Monfils, Lleyton Hewitt, Fernando Gonzalez and Alona Bondarenko were among the worlds best sizzling in the sun.
