Arthur Fils’ 2025 ATP season did not go to plan.
The Frenchman, one of the brightest talents on Tour, was left watching on from the sidelines for the majority of the season due to a persistent back injury which hampered his progress.
The injury issues began in the lead up to the French Open, and Fils later admitted that he regretted participating in the event.
The former world number 14 last played a competitive match in August at the Canadian Open. Fils is set to make his return in 2026, months after his last competitive match on the Tour.
In that match, he lost to world number 17 Jiri Lehecka, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.
