Aryna Sabalenka discusses her improved net game
Aryna Sabalenka introduced doubles specialist Max Mirnyi into her coaching setup last year, and it appears his influence – and her hard work – has paid off.
The Belarusian has undoubtedly improved her net game at the start of 2026, and she seems to be gaining more and more confidence with every passing match.
Sabalenka discussed this aspect of her game after beating McNally.

She said: “I’m feeling more and more comfortable at the net, and I’m finding it really fun, although it’s true that today I wasn’t the best player when it came to hitting those tricky shots near the net.
“It’s fun when you try to vary your game a bit more, although it’s not always easy. Next time I’ll try to mix things up more intelligently and see how it goes.”
