Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff have learned their fates at Indian Wells after the draw for the WTA 1000 tournament was confirmed.

Sabalenka has a fine chance of Sunshine Swing success, having secured one title and reached another final from her two events of 2026.

She has an 11-1 record, while her WTA rival Gauff enters Indian Wells with a 10-4 record for the 2026 season so far.

The two superstars now know their potential routes to the final in California, where Sabalenka is the top seed and Gauff is the fourth.

Aryna Sabalenka or Iga Swiatek… who do you prefer? 🤔

Aryna Sabalenka’s tough Indian Wells draw confirmed

Sabalenka has received a bye in round one of the tournament, after which she could take on wildcard Alycia Parks.

Australian talent Maya Joint represents a potential third round opponent, followed by a potential meeting with either Naomi Osaka or Iva Jovic in round four.

A quarterfinal clash with Amanda Anisimova is then on the cards for the four-time Grand Slam champion, as is a semifinal with home favorite Gauff.

And should Sabalenka make it all the way to another final, she will potentially play against second seed Iga Swiatek.

It’s certainly not an easy path to the title for the Belarusian, but she will still be confident of a lengthy run in tennis paradise.

Coco Gauff handed intriguing Indian Wells draw

For Gauff, Indian Wells represents a chance to really kickstart her season, but like Sabalenka she doesn’t have an easy route to the title.

The American also has a bye in round one, before a possible second round clash against Bianca Andreescu, a wildcard and a fellow former US Open champion.

Two-time Grand Slam winner Gauff could then be reunited with Alexandra Eala in round three, having just thrashed the popular youngster in Dubai.

Linda Noskova and Jasmine Paolini then represent possible opponents in the round of 16 and quarterfinals respectively.

And Gauff may be forced to end her tournament against the top two seeds, potentially meeting Sabalenka in the semifinals and Swiatek in the final.

Iga Swiatek and Elena Rybakina draws highlight quality Indian Wells field

With a very high-quality field for the WTA 1000 tournament, there really is no easy draw at Indian Wells.

Second seed Swiatek has landed in the same half of the draw as defending champion Mirra Andreeva, with their potential quarterfinal possibly followed immediately by the Pole taking on Elena Rybakina.

Meanwhile, before that the Australian Open champion could face back-to-back clashes against Madison Keys and Jessica Pegula.

Do you think Iga Swiatek will win a Grand Slam this season?

Both Swiatek and Rybakina could face Sabalenka in the final, and so could Andreeva, which would be a repeat of the 2025 final.

As for rising star Eala, Sabalenka, Anisimova and Osaka represent potential semifinal opponents on her Indian Wells debut.

And should she manage to go all the way, one of Rybakina, Swiatek and Pegula could be waiting in the final.
