Arthur Rinderknech produced a solid display to end Jack Draper’s campaign in the second round of the Dubai Tennis Championships.
The British number one was unable to break Rinderknech’s serve in a tight three set battle in his third match back from injury.
Draper showed impressive signs against Rinderknech, but the Frenchman’s match sharpness shone through in Dubai.
Rinderknech continued a stunning record against top 20 players, which dates back to his run at Queen’s Club.

Rinderknech enjoyed a standout season in 2025 and he began a run of incredible victories by defeating Ben Shelton in the first round of Queen’s.
Since the London tournament, Rinderknech has picked up several victories against top 20 stars, which continued against Draper.
The Frenchman has now beaten nine top 20 players since June 2025, including his latest win against Draper.

Rinderknech has only lost to Alex de Minaur and Carlos Alcaraz in that time, the latter of which has beaten him three times.

The star reached the Shanghai Masters final during that stretch, which helped him reach a career ranking high of World No. 26.
Rinderknech is on the cusp of breaking that ranking record yet again, as he currently sits at world number 27 following his win against Draper.
He will play Andrey Rublev in the quarter-finals of the Dubai Tennis Championships, who is looking to defend his title from last year.

Speaking after the match during his on-court interview, Rinderknech was absolutely delighted to get the victory over Draper.
The Frenchman said: “It’s a good match. I’ve been playing some good matches since the beginning of the year, but it didn’t go my way that often.

“Tonight it was going my side, so it was cool, especially here because it’s a really great tournament and I have some family and friends here this week, so it’s even better in front of them.”
Rinderknech had not previously beaten Draper, having lost his only previous meeting to the Brit at the 2022 Paris Masters.
Draper picked up a straight sets victory against the Frenchman on home soil at the iconic indoor Masters event.
