After dispatching Spaniard Marcel Granollers in a swift straight sets second round victory, Andy Murray will face a tougher opponent tomorrow in the capacity of Austrian Jurgen Melzer. Murray leads their head-to-head 3-0 as the pair will contest for a place in the last 16.

Murray, who is joint favourite at this years Aussie Open believes that last years comeback win over the Austrian at the US Open could give him a psychological edge when they meet for a fourth time.

Murray, who beat Melzer at Flushing Meadows said: The US Open was mentally quite a tough one for him. He told me afterwards he played one of his best matches and I still won.

Fourth seed Murray has never lost to the Austrian so is going into the event as the strong favourite. However, he is going to have to avoid the various lapses in concentration he experienced against Granollers. I wasnt concentrating on every point. It was tough. Murray told reporters. Murray continues, I know that Im going to have to play well to win the match. But I just think mentally, going in Im going to feel better this time than I was going in playing against him at the US Open.

Dont miss the first floodlit match on the Hisense Arena that will be played at 8.30am (GMT).
