Emma Raducanu and Amanda Anisimova are set for a blockbuster third round match at Indian Wells.

Raducanu defeated Anastasia Zakharova in straight sets to begin her Indian Wells campaign in strong fashion.

Anisimova, meanwhile, needed an extra set to come through a difficult battle against Anna Blinkova in her first match.

Raducanu said it’s ‘really tough’ to face Anisimova and now the American has responded to their third round clash.

Amanda Anisimova says Emma Raducanu is ‘not an easy opponent’

Raducanu holds a positive head-to-head record against Anisimova on the WTA Tour, despite their current ranking disparity.

The British star has beaten Anisimova twice in their three matches and the American is under no illusions about how tough Raducanu will be at Indian Wells.

Will Amanda Anisimova win a Grand Slam title in 2026?

Speaking at her press conference, Anisimova said: “I think the last time I faced her I was just playing really well. I played the way I wanted to play.

“At the end of the day, I mean, there is a certain way I like to play. I think I also had found my rhythm. I think it might have been the second or third match I played last year.

“It was a great match. She’s not an easy opponent to face. She always brings high-quality tennis. I have had some great matches with her. Hoping for another good one.”

Anisimova won her last match against Raducanu at the Canadian Open in dominant fashion with a straight sets victory, with the American dropping just three games.

Amanda Anisimova emulates her last Masters success at Indian Wells

In the China Open final, Anisimova hit a 6-0 scoreline against Linda Noskova, a feat she emulated in her first match at Indian Wells.

Anisimova hit Blinkova with a bagel in the deciding set, so it could prove a good omen for the American as she looks for another Masters title.

The American has won two Masters titles in her career, with the first coming at the Qatar Open back in February 2025.
