Alexandra Eala will be the second seed at the very first Philippine Women’s Open in Manila.

Eala has taken the tennis world by storm, where she proved one of the most popular players at the Australian Open.

The Filipina star has a major chance to win the second WTA 125 tournament of her career, following her win in Guadalajara last year.

The draw for the Philippine Women’s Open has now been made and Eala’s first opponent has been identified.

Alexandra Eala’s route at the Philippine Women’s Open

Eala will play in the bottom section of the draw at the Philippine Women’s Open and she will play Alina Charaeva.

The Russian star is currently the world number 160 and she most recently competed in Australian Open qualifying.

Eala has also been drawn in the same section of the draw as Solana Sierra, Camila Osorio, and Simona Waltert, who are all seeded for the event.

The Filipina star has missed out on early matches with Tatjana Maria and Donna Vekic, who are in the top of the draw.

The 20-year-old can only play either of those if she reaches the final, which is a very real possibility for the star.

Eala will play the winner of Nao Hibino and Himeno Sakatsume if she beats Charaeva in her first round match in Manila.

How much money can Alexandra Eala win at the Philippine Women’s Open?

The Philippine Women’s Open is not the biggest WTA tournament on the tour, but Eala could still bag a tidy sum if she lifts the trophy.

The winner of the tournament will get a check for $115,000, which would massively boost her takings for 2026.

Eala has collected $14,526 in prize money so far this season, thanks to her exploits at the Australian Open and ASB Classic.

Her overall career prize money takings recently topped the $1 million mark and currently sits at $1,378,211.

Eala has a chance to further boost her prize money haul as she has recently been given a wild card for the Abu Dhabi Open.
