Alexandra Eala has been one of the stories of the season so far, as her popularity has brought a whole new set of eyes on tennis.

While Eala has not yet set the WTA Tour alight, her matches all over the world have been packed with passionate fans.

Eala is set to play the Linz Open next as she gets her clay court season underway at the Austrian WTA 250 event.

The 20-year-old has added another clay court tournament to her schedule and she has a huge chance of winning it.

Alexandra Eala adds another event to her growing schedule

For the most part, Eala has stuck to the biggest tournaments of the WTA Tour calendar, but she will be dropping down a level to play La Bisbal in Spain.

Eala has signed up for the WTA 125 event, where she will be the fifth seed at the highest rung on the Challenger Tour.

What is the best win of Alexandra Eala’s career so far? 🤔

Iga Swiatek in Miami, Clara Tauson at the US Open, Jasmine Paolini in Dubai, or a different match?

The Filipina will play the tournament alongside Leylah Fernandez, Xinyu Wang, Ann Li, and Katerina Siniakova, all of whom are currently ranked above her.

Eala will undoubtedly be one of the favourites, particularly if she finds the form that helped her reach semi-finals in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

The star has won a WTA 125 event previously, at the Guadalajara 125 Open in September 2025. She defeated Panna Udvardy to lift the trophy.

Alexandra Eala has a major opportunity this clay court season

Despite plying her trade at the Rafael Nadal Academy, Eala has never hit full flight during a clay court swing.

The 20-year-old only picked up two victories on the surface last year, which could prove to be a positive this year.

What does Alexandra Eala need to improve in 2026 to challenge for a Grand Slam title?

With very little ranking points to defend, the Filipina has a genuine chance of soaring up the rankings yet again.

Eala will essentially be playing every single clay court event as a free swing and she will be picking up points no matter how far she gets.

She lost in the first round of the Italian Open and Roland Garros last term, so this year could be fruitful if she has improved on the surface.
