Alexandra Eala has enjoyed an outstanding 2025 season on the women’s tennis circuit, achieving a multitude of milestones for her nation.

Eala first caught the attention of onlookers in March, when she defeated Madison Keys, Paula Badosa and Iga Swiatek on her way to the Miami Open semi-finals.

Eala has since become the first player from her country to win a Grand Slam main draw match, following her defeat of Clara Tauson at the US Open.

In 2025, the Filipino star has also won her first WTA title of her career, for which she was congratulated by Rafael Nadal.

After losing to Victoria Mboko at the Hong Kong Open, Eala rose to world number 50, becoming the only Filipino player in history to achieve the feat. In fact, Eala was already the first Filipino player to enter the WTA top 100.

It has been a remarkable season for the youngster – one that should live long in the memory.

Alexandra Eala says her ‘dreams have truly come alive’ in 2025

In a post on Instagram, Alexandra Eala has reflected on her stellar 2025 WTA season.

“My season comes to an end,” Eala said on Instagram

“I have no words to describe what 2025 has brought me. My dreams have truly come alive.

“It’s such a privilege to look back at this year and relive these amazing moments through memory. All that’s happened this season and the emotions that come with it is a love letter to my family, friends, team, every supporter across my journey in tennis, and of course, baby Alex.

“This marks the beginning of what I hope to be a long, happy and fruitful career on tour! Thank you everybody, see you in 2026!”

What can Alexandra Eala achieve in 2026?

Alexandra Eala is certainly one of the most talented young stars on the WTA Tour, as demonstrated by her 2025 performance.

While she is a long way from challenging for major honours, the Filipino star is certainly capable of winning multiple rounds at a Grand Slam tournament.

Eala’s victory against Clara Tauson at the US Open was no fluke, and she will be able to use this experience when competing at Grand Slam events in 2026.

However, the young star must improve one area of her game – her serve.

Eala’s first serve simply is not strong enough to cause some of the best WTA players any significant issues.

Eala regularly serves below 90 mph on her first serve, meaning her opponents are rarely threatened and have the opportunity to ease into the rally without much discomfort.

If Eala can develop a more powerful serve – one that can challenge her opponents’ returning ability – she could take her game to a whole new level in 2026.
