Alexandra Eala and Venus Williams’ partnership at the Bad Homburg Open has now come to an end.

Eala has enjoyed a successful grass court season so far, winning a WTA 125 title in Birmingham and reaching the semi-finals in Berlin.

The Filipina was unable to continue this in Bad Homburg after losing her first round match in singles, but Eala and Williams did win their first round match in the doubles event.

Eala and Williams were subsequently beaten in the quarter-finals by second seeds Olivia Nicholls and Tereza Mihalikova 6-3, 6-2 and they have now reflected on their partnership on social media.

Alexandra Eala sends heartfelt message to Venus Williams on Instagram

This was the first time that Eala had ever played with Williams, having been born after her 46-year-old partner had already won four major singles titles.

Although they were only able to win one match together, it appears that both Eala and Williams reflect on their doubles partnership positively.

Williams began this by writing on her Instagram story, “The best ride, the best tournament, the best partner!”

Eala responded to Williams with a story of her own, as she said, “So grateful for this experience!!”

The 21-year-old continued to pay tribute to Williams, as Eala then made a separate Instagram post to speak about her partnership with the former world number one.

Eala said, “Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that I’d have the privilege of competing alongside you on court @venuswilliams! Immensely grateful to learn from you (love heart emoji).”

Where will Alexandra Eala and Venus Williams be ranked in doubles now?

Although Eala’s main focus is singles, she has also been playing a lot of doubles this year as well.

So far this year, Eala has played alongside the likes of Iva Jovic, Janice Tjen, Zeynep Sonmez and now Williams.

Eala is currently at world number 126 in the live doubles rankings, which is below her career-high of number 88 that she achieved earlier this year.

Williams has also been playing more doubles this year, and as a result is on the brink of returning to the top 100 in the rankings at 109 after playing in Bad Homburg.

Both Eala and Venus Williams will also be playing doubles at Wimbledon, but not together as they partner Nikola Bartunkova and Serena Williams, respectively.
