Alexander Zverev is undoubtedly one of the best players of his generation, but the star has still not managed to capture that elusive first Grand Slam.
Zverev has been predicted to tumble down the ATP rankings after back-to-back years as the world number three.
The German has won just two tournaments in the previous two seasons, although he did reach the Australian Open final at the beginning of the year.
Zverev’s inability to win a Grand Slam while inside the top 10 of the rankings has earned him an unwanted tennis record.

The German has overtaken the likes of Tomas Berdych, David Ferrer, Nikolai Davydenko, and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga with the most weeks in the top 10, with 373 weeks.

Zverev has come close to winning Grand Slams in his career, making three finals at Roland Garros, US Open, and the Australian Open.
He lost to Jannik Sinner in the final of the 2025 Australian Open, Dominic Thiem at the 2020 US Open, and Carlos Alcaraz at the 2024 Roland Garros.

Zverev’s chances of winning a Grand Slam are becoming slimmer and slimmer, particularly due to the dominance of Sinner and Alcaraz.

Speaking after his shock first round exit at Wimbledon in 2025, Zverev said he is still driven by winning a Grand Slam.

Zverev has suffered an early exit in his last two Grand Slam appearances. He lost in the first round of Wimbledon to Arthur Rinderknech and followed it up with a third round exit at the hands of Felix Auger-Aliassime at the US Open.
