Alexander Bublik’s stellar 2025 season has continued after reaching the final of the Hangzhou Open.
The Kazakhstani player defeated young Chinese star Wu Yibing 6-3, 6-3 on Sunday to reach his fourth ATP Tour final of the season.
Bublik will be aiming to win a fourth ATP Tour title of the season after emerging victorious from all of his previous three finals this year, in Halle, Gstaad and Kitzbuhel.
In the final, Bublik will face French qualifier Valentin Royer, who has become the fourth qualifier to reach an ATP Tour final in 2025.
By defeating Wu, Bublik has found himself in uncharted territory.
Alexander Bublik is the fourth player to reach at least one ATP Tour final on all surfaces in 2025

Alexander Bublik’s upcoming Hangzhou Open final appearance will mark his first hard-court ATP Tour final of 2025.
The Kazakhstani star has also made finals on the other ATP surfaces this season: grass and clay.
In June, Bublik defeated Jannik Sinner and Daniil Medvedev on his way to the Halle Open title.
A month later, the 29-year-old won back-to-back clay court titles in Gstaad, Switzerland, and Kitzbuhel, Austria.
After making the final in Hangzhou, Bublik has joined Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev and Jannik Sinner on an exclusive 2025 list.
All four of these players have now reached at least one ATP Tour final on every surface in 2025.
Bublik closes in on ATP Finals spot
Alexander Bublik’s run at the Hangzhou Open has given him a real opportunity at qualifying for the first ATP Tour finals of his career.
The 29-year-old has moved up to 12th on the list, behind the likes of Andrey Rublev and Alex de Minaur.
De Minaur currently occupies the final qualifying spot on 3,145 points, with Bublik 835 points behind on 2,310.
| Player | Current ATP Finals Ranking | Points |
| Alex de Minaur | 8 | 3,145 |
| Jack Draper | 9 | 2,990 |
| Felix Auger-Aliassime | 10 | 2,705 |
| Andrey Rublev | 11 | 2,410 |
| Alexander Bublik | 12 | 2,310 |
While this is a significant gap, there is hope for Bublik. There are still plenty of tournaments to be played before the Finals, including the Shanghai Masters, Brussels Open and Vienna Open.
