Alex Eala more motivated after Wimbledon fourth-round run

Eala told Rom Anzures of ABS-CBN News: “It is my best result in a Grand Slam, so it’s a highlight of my career so far.

“But if anything it just motivates me to work harder.

I’m even more ambitious now, I’m even more hungry.

“I think the whole idea of ‘Kapag lumago, hindi na hihinto,’ it resonates so well with this moment in my career.

“Because I feel, like we said, ‘The seeds were planted’, and more than it correlating to results, it refers more to the dreams that I have.

“I’ve always been an ambitious girl.

“Growing up I’ve always had big dreams, and now that I’ve gotten a glimpse of what it’s like to live them out, those dreams just keep getting bigger and bigger.

“And I think that’s a great thing when it’s backed up by hard work.”

It’s a fantastic and honest assessment from the 21-year-old rising star, who always speaks beyond her years.
