Katie Boulter – De Minaur’s fiancée – was not so fortunate on the second day of Wimbledon.
Earlier in the day, Boulter was defeated by Italian youngster Tyra Grant.
De Minaur, nicknamed the ‘Demon’, reacted to Boulter’s defeat during his post-match press conference.
Alex de Minaur says Katie Boulter will overcome her Wimbledon defeat
“Yeah, today was a tough one for Katie,” De Minaur admitted to reporters in London. “She does so incredibly well to put these tough moments behind her, or at least she makes that effort.

“Now for me, [I] was trying to kind of stay in my lane in a way and focus on what I needed to do.
“It’s not easy by any means because ultimately you want the whole kind of household to keep on winning all day every day.
Boulter came into Tuesday’s contest as the favourite, but was ultimately beaten 6-4, 6-2 by the world number 172.

“No, she is great,” the Australian added. “I’ll see her once I’m done back home. I’ll do what I can to be there for her.
“Yeah, she’s great. She’ll be disappointed, but I know she’ll get through it.
After losing at Wimbledon, Boulter will now begin her preparations for the hard-court swing.

As for De Minaur, the 27-year-old will play grass-court maestro Adrian Mannarino in the Wimbledon second round.
Mannarino, a former quarter-finalist at Wimbledon, defeated compatriot Titouan Droguet in his first-round match.
Alex de Minaur previews his match against Adrian Mannarino
Adrian Mannarino is certainly one of the best grass-court players on the ATP Tour.
The Frenchman always seems to relish playing on the surface, as demonstrated by his improved results.
With that being said, Alex de Minaur will feel confident heading into their second-round clash.

After all, the Australian has a 5-1 record against Mannarino.
“You look at the numbers, he’s one of the better grass court players we’ve had over the last X amount of years,” De Minaur said during his post-match press conference on Tuesday.
“He’s an incredibly tricky opponent, right? When we play each other, I think we both know how to make each other feel uncomfortable, right?
“A lot of our matches, you won’t see a lot of topspin. There’s going to be a very low net clearance, a lot of flat shots, a lot of low balls.
“We both try to make each other feel uncomfortable, right? It’s about who can execute a little bit better and who’s on their game. I know going into that match, I’ve got to be up for it from the very start because if not, it is not easy.

“He’s not a player that you can kind of get a rhythm with, right? It’s not a normal player that maybe is going to give you a couple looks at balls.
“Every ball is normally below the net, right, it’s so flat and so low. It makes a completely different type of game style.
“Yeah, I’ve got to get ready to get low. The legs are going to feel it [smiling].”
