The second week of the US Open exploded into life with some BIG wins for the Americans on Monday.

The Williams sisters set up a quarter-final date with one another after crushing their opponents and Mardy Fish shocked Gael Monfils to book a date with Rafa Nadal.

Even Sam Querrey didnt do bad, taking a set off Nadal, and joining the Spanish top seed in the last eight were Andy Murray and Juan Martin Del Potro who will face off on Wednesday.

In the womens top half, surprise quarter-finalist Flavia Pennetta continued her smooth progress and will now take on Dinara Safina who swatted away Anna-Lena Groenefeld.
