The middle Sunday of the US Open sizzled with scorching temperatures and sensational tennis.

In the womens fourth round Jelena Jankovic outlasted Caroline Wozniacki, supermum Sybille Bammer shocked Marion Bartoli, Elena Dementieva thrashed Li Na and Patty Schnyder took out Katarina Srebotnik.

The mens action was all about Andy Roddick, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic who all progressed unscathed.

There were also wins for Fernando Gonzalez, Tommy Robredo, Nikolay Davydenko, Igor Andreev and qualifer Gilles Muller

And, as ever, the Tennishead photographer was on site for our enjoyment.
