WATCH: Lloyd Harris throws his drink onto court as Alexander Zverev books semi-final spot

Alexander Zverev survived a first-set scare to beat Lloyd Harris and ease into the US Open semi-finals.

Zverev was a defeated finalist last year, and he has looked in fine form again as he looks to go one better this season.

It took him a little time to assert his dominance in the match, with Harris actually failing to serve out the first set.

The German was able to get the break back, though, taking it a tiebreaker, but the drama didn’t stop there.

Harris had set point in the tiebreaker, but had to endure a long wait to serve with Zverev claiming the big screens in the upper tiers of Court Arthur Ashe were distracting him.

When Harris was eventually allowed to serve, Zverev save match point and then quickly wrapped it up himself, leaving the usual mild-manner South African furious.

On the change over he let that frustration get the best of him, tossing his drinks bottle onto the court.

A further delay was then required to clean up the court, with both players helping out.

When play resumed, Harris spirit seemed to have been broken, and Zverev was able to relatively quickly wrap up a 7-6, 6-3, 6-4 win.

Zverev will now play the winner of the night session’s match between Novak Djokovic and Matteo Berrettini.
