Simona Halep announces end to ‘wonderful’ coaching partnership
Simona Halep has revealed that the working relationship with her coach has come to an end after more than half a decade working together.
The former world one has come to another fork in her career after deciding to no longer work with coach Darren Cahill.
Halep revealed the decision to fans over social media, which was made mutually with the Australian.
“After six wonderful years working together, Darren Cahill and I have decided that it’s time to end our working relationship,” Halep tweeted.
“Thank you D for everything, for making me a better tennis player and a better person.”

The partnership saw Halep to her first Grand Slam triumph at Roland Garros 2018, as well as the Romanian’s rise to the top of the WTA rankings in 2017.
Cahill stepped away from coaching from the end of the 2018 season to the autumn of 2019, in which time Halep secured her second Major title at Wimbledon.
The two reunited and began working together once more at the WTA finals in 2019.
