Montcourt dead – reports

The website of French newspaper L’Equipe reported that the death of Montcourt, who was ranked 119th in the world, has been confirmed by French tennis chief Patrice Dominguez.

The cause of death is unknown, although radio station RMC are reporting he suffered a pulmonary embolism.

The French Tennis Federation (FFT) are expected to release a statement later today.

Montcourt reached the second round of this year’s French Open, where he lost to Radek Stepanek.
