The second-seeded 20-year-old breezed past his 24-year-old seventh-seeded compatriot to post a 6-3 6-4 triumph in just over 90 minutes.

Cilic was much the fresher of the finalists after needing less than 90 minutes to get past Serbia’s Viktor Troicki in straight sets yesterday, while Ancic took more than three hours to see off Czech Jan Hernych in the other semi-final.
