‘I am horrific’ – Andy Murray reveals lockdown failure after solid Battle of the Brits showing

Andy Murray has revealed he attempted to pass the time in lockdown by painting, with apparently ‘horrific; results.

The former world number one’s wife is a portrait painter, and Murray claims he tried to emulate her in an attempt to entertain their children.

However, it seems it did not go all that well.

“I’ve learned that I’m not very good at painting and drawing,” Murray said.

“The kids are always asking for things to be drawn or to be coloured in.

“My wife, who is an artist, is clearly very good. I, on the other hand, am horrific but I’m always happy to try.

“While lockdown hasn’t been easy for anyone, it’s been great getting to spend time with the kids and be around them as I’m usually off competing.”

Andy Murray had a successful week at the Battle of the Brits, playing four matches in five days before losing to British number one and eventual winner Dan Evans in the semi-finals.

It was Murray’s first competitive tennis for seven months, but he came through it without aggravating his troublesome hip.

He did pull out of the third/fourth place play-off match, but only as a precaution.
